Services for Irmgard (Bruck) Heckelmann, 86, of Leroy Township, will be at 10 AM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Michael J. Currier of the Body of Christ Community Church will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heckelmann passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Brookdale at Mentor in Mentor.
Born July 25, 1931 in Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1954, settling in Concord Township.
She lived several years in Novelty (Russell Township) returning to Mentor after her husband’s death and joining her daughter’s family about six years ago.
She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, traveling, cooking, baking and most especially spending time with her family.
Mrs. Heckelmann operated Heckelmann’s Restaurant on Lost Nation Road in Willoughby for several years.
Survivors are her children, Berndy (Janis) Heckelmann and Margitta (Butch) Rosnack; grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Grenwis, Christa (Bill) McFarland, Samantha (Christopher) Pfeil, Michele Petruccelli and Nicholas Rosnack; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bernhard, on March 22, 2001. Her parents, Robert and Katharina (Kipper) Bruck and sister, Katy Setzer are also deceased.
Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, following the service on Monday.
